“You eat with your eyes first” I guess everyone would agree with me on this when one steps foot into a bakery. When colors, textures and details suggest as many flavors, half the work of convincing customers to linger, buy and come back is done. White brick wall, ambient lighting and neutral colors- all this creates “The Baker’s Dozen”.
Using a Minimal Color Scheme
“The Baker’s Dozen” exudes elegance. Set against light flooring and walls, a dark back wall creates a sublime background for the store. The goal was to create a design harmony amongst all “The Baker’s Dozen” stores across India creating their individual design language. And what better way to do than taking inspiration from the brand itself? Their use of clean lines, black and white combinations and their honesty in baking the perfect breads inspired us to create this beautiful store.
We used very minimal materials; majorly using pine wood and metal. Leaving the flooring untouched, we created a different flooring near the billing counter using Chevron pattern that resonates with their brand.
The use of plants in a space helps bring in some freshness and also adds a pop of color to the space. Using neon lighting for their signage not only helps their branding but also adds a bit of quirk to the whole space.
Just when you think to yourself- How is this is different from any other bakery? Well, we have The Sourdough Experience Wall. A space where anyone can come to learn and experiment the process of making a delicious Sourdough! Right from selecting your grains to preparing the batter and then finally popping it fresh out of the oven. The aroma of freshly baked bread is surely going to tingle your taste buds. The store promises to treat all your senses.
Having an eye-catchy window display is very important. A rack with gift baskets is minimal and attracts customers to the store. A clear glass on the outside with vinyl lettering highlights your star product and gives the customer an idea about your store.
A design journey has been created here. A flow of pattern is created that starts from the display of their products and an experiment wall and goes towards Friends of TBD- a space that promotes other home brands. We take customers through different experiences in this space.
